Rest Stop

 

Not the pounding heart

of anxiety

racing my unconscious

to fear-fevered

wakefulness

Aware

but unconvinced

my demon dreams

are only

dreams

But

the wonderful

windedness

The body

at rest

after motion

heart beat slowing

to peace
