Existence
or my perception
of it

is a clash
of paradoxical
forces:
moving forward
as the river moves
at high flood
or under ice
but also
a cycle
melting
and refreezing
receding to
dry stones
and
returning to earth
as rain
Sister Moon
winks
playfully
at her
strange
manmade
moon
sisters
I could
imagine
as I look up
lying
on my back
in a pool
of blue
that reflects
summer skies
Lady Sun
just awakened
but fierce
Sister Moon
fading
in farewell
When
will we three
meet again?
Dear Nature,
today
we are separated
by so much more
than glass
By windchill
and shortened days
By time
by will
or lack of both
By duty
taken
and given
and pushed in
even when
no more room remains
Can we clear
our calendars
before spring?
What languid hand
moved through
the clouds
and left
these trails
behind?
Back to their
old tricks
Lady Sun
dazzles
with her brilliant
rays
while Winter
circles behind
to playfully
knock away
our breath
