Unblinking

Pale

and perfect

Sister Moon

gazes down

unblinking

on a landscape

as white

and cold

as her own

face

In the foreground

Winter
has left
another bouquet
of frost-flowers
a handful
of frozen
stars

Solitary

Winter’s prisoner,

I yearn

toward the sun

from behind

bars of shadow

and light

Gilded Goodbye

Evening reveals

a vein of gold

left behind

by Lady Sun’s

passing

Between the Glass

Winter
creeps in
through any crack
sketching
skeletal feathers
and frozen
waterfalls

Brilliant

Winter’s iron grip

wrings out

all color

leaving the landscape

and sky

weak and faded;

only Lady Sun

burns bright
